Change your life a little at a time with YOU-app

YOU-app is a free mobile app that helps you improve your life by making small changes or 'micro-actions' in areas such as food, fitness, emotional health and more. The app prompts you to take a small action -- for instance, to make a healthy snack, exercise for a short time or write about something you're grateful for. You'll then be able to share the result with other app users to help inspire them to make changes as well.

Small steps make long journeys

The motivational features of YOU-app help keep you focused on making small but positive changes to your life. Each task comes with a special feature of some kind such as a short video from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to get you interested. The interface is simple and easy to use, reminiscent of other social media apps, and its features are clearly labelled. For instance, you can label certain actions as 'keep-it-up' actions, which recur daily so that you can build them into habit. Although the interface is easy to use, some of the technical features can be challenging -- for instance, camera integration isn't perfect, and sometimes means quitting out of the app to take a photograph and then opening it again.

Making personal improvement fun

YOU-app takes the process of self-improvement and turns it into a game-like process. If you need an occasional reminder to take care of yourself, it's a strong choice.

PROS

  • Sharing features
  • Varied and interesting messages
